Weaving Success: A Progress Report on the Tapestry of Black Business Ownership in the United States
Black entrepreneurs are driving new business formation and closing a longstanding gap in business ownership, but structural barriers prevent many from reaching their full potential. This report leverages data from the U.S. Census Bureau and microdata from the 2023 Entrepreneurship in the Population (EPOP) Survey to arm ecosystem stakeholders – community lenders, business support organizations, and policymakers – with new insights to support the success of Black entrepreneurs.
